Name Central Texas Turnpike
Location Austin - San Antonio, TX
Mode Controlled access highway with capacity for managed lanes and rail in some corridors.
Description A new 122-mile contiguous turnpike facility in the Austin-San Antonio corridor. Consists of four distinct, but interconnected elements:
SH 45 (16.1 miles; $480 million)
Loop 1 (4.1 miles; $125 million)
US 183A (12.1 miles; $190 million)
SH 130 (90 miles; $916 million)
The four elements will be constructed ultimately as a 6-lane controlled access highways with capacity for managed lanes and rail in the SH 130 corridor.

Cost $3.220 billion (including O&M and financing costs).

Project Delivery / Contract Method Traditional design/bid/build for Loop 1 and SH 45; Exclusive Development Agreement for SH 130 and US 183A.
Private Investor Partner Contract discussions are underway between TxDOT's Turnpike Authority Division and Lone Star Infrastructure (LSI), a private consortium that would design, construct, and maintain SH 130. An Exclusive Development Agreement with LSI is anticipated to be executed by summer 2002.
