on the Cross
Island Parkway
in Hilton Head.
The 7.5-mile
Cross Island
Parkway has one
toll plaza with
12 lanes and
two ramps with
one lane each.
ITS technologies
used in the system
include electronic
toll collection,
electronic fare
payment, automatic
vehicle identification
(AVI) and video
enforcement.
Lockheed Martin
is responsible
for the equipment
design and installation
as well as operation
of the state's
first toll facility.
